Decompiler cleanup
Intended workflow
Section titled “Intended workflow”The planned extension helps review improvements to a function’s presentation and interpretation. It should keep the current program context visible and distinguish a proposed name or explanation from an established fact.
A useful review sequence is to select a function, inspect the proposed cleanup, compare it with the Listing, and accept only changes supported by evidence. No generated explanation should silently become a committed annotation.
Before using a release
Section titled “Before using a release”- VERIFY supported Community version and extension publisher.
- VERIFY which changes affect the program database and which affect a temporary view.
- VERIFY review, cancellation, and undo behavior.
- VERIFY local-model options, cloud opt-in, transmitted fields, retention, and logging.
- VERIFY behavior for failed decompilation, timeouts, stale functions, and invalid output.
Do not assume cleaned output is original source or semantically equivalent to the binary. Continue to check branches, calls, sizes, and signedness in the underlying program.
For a workflow available in the upstream baseline, see Working with the Decompiler. See Community vs Pro for scope.
